OUR BEGINNINGS
Néos Church was born out of a faithful and resilient people who have experienced God doing a new thing within them and believe that God wants to do a new thing through them. Pastor James and Esther Kasinathan have responded to the call of God and in early 2025 will plant Néos Church in Alexandria, Sydney.
Our name in scripture
néos (neh’-os) || νέος (strongs G3501)
New in time, fresh, regenerate, young, recent, equivalent to born again.
Our name, Néos (pronounced: neh'-os, meaning: new) speaks to our desire for continuous transformation to be more like Christ.
At Néos Church, we are committed to putting on our new nature so we can partner with God to bring good news to the poor, comfort the brokenhearted and proclaim release to physical and spiritual captives. Our prayer is for God to continually create a pure heart and renew a right spirit within us so that we can wholeheartedly love Him and love others.
MATTHEW 9:17, MARK 2:22, LUKE 5:37
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”
LUKE 5:39
“But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”
COLOSSIANS 3:10-14
“Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
HEBREWS 12:24
“You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.”
1 CORINTHIANS 5:7
“Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”
